| So I have really been reading “Time” lately and have found so amazingly interesting and sometimes humorous things I thought I would share with everyone! I hope you enjoy! ~ $100 million has been estimated to have been spent on marketing by Gap, Apple, and Motorola for the RED campaign. Only $18 million has been raised worldwide to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. ~Mexico is having an illegal immigration problem from Central America. It is estimated that 120,000 individuals enter illegally each year to take up jobs such as coffee pickers, construction workers, maids, and gardeners. President Calderon is establishing a guest-worker program. ~Ecstasy is being tested on patients with posttraumatic stress syndrome. Currently studies have shown that “mushrooms” help compulsive individuals and “Special K” can help people with major depression. Who knew? ~The 7 wonders of the world are changing and you can vote on what they are. And the final quote to end these little bits of information with is in an article about TV violence and how we use to care about nudity and now the focus has changed. The article goes through what government is doing and I just find this quote priceless. “But if politicians simply respected the audience’s choices, stopped posturing against theatrical violence and fictional bad guys, they would have to focus on, say, the thornier problems of stopping actual bloodshed in the real world.” Think about it for a minute, isn’t that brilliant!

| What is the deal with guys thinking I like them because I send them cards? I send cards to everyone and I literally mean everyone! It’s my thing. I like to write cards. I sent over 300 for Halloween. Just cause you get one of my cards doesn’t mean I have a crush on you. It doesn’t mean I want you to talk to someone for me. We are not in jr. high, if I like you, I will let you know. I appreciate you and your friendship and want to send you a little something to brighten your day. | | |
| A few weeks ago I went to the taping of the Tyra show. The show, staring Fergie, airs today, Monday, November 06, 2006. In the LA area at 10am and 4pm on Fox channel 11 and in San Jose area at 3pm on Fox (channel 2, I think). | | |
| Dear Friends & Family,
How are you? I hope all is well! I wanted to let you know about something I am doing this year at LMU. Please be praying for this throughout the year.
A few of my friends and I learned every 15 seconds, someone dies from the lack of clean water. At this rate, the entire LMU student body would be dead in 30 hrs & 20 min. We decided that we wanted to do something about this.
Our goal is to raise ½ a million dollars throughout the school year to build wells in Africa. The organization we found to partner with is called Blood:Water Mission. Check them out www.bloodwatermission.com.
On November 8th, 9 pm, on O’Malley lawn we are having a concert to help raise money to build these wells. If you live in the Los Angeles area we would love to have you join in on this event. We are asking for a $15 donation which brings one person water for 15 years of their life. That’s all we are asking our student body to give, less then you pay for food in a day.
If you don’t live in the Los Angeles area there are two things we would love your help with. First off, prayer! Our goal is big but we hope and pray we can accomplish it. Also, if you are willing to donate to the cause that would be awesome!
Checks can be made Payable to Blood:Water Mission (memo line: 1000 Wells Project) and sent to: Change the World c/o Alexandra Froehlich 1 LMU Dr. MSB-2600 Los Angeles, CA, 90045 (Yes this is tax deductible! You will get a letter in the mail from Blood:Water!)
Thanks for being apart of changing the world! Questions? Ask me!
Love Always, Alex
